Carly launched The Illyrian Players in January 2011, in hopes of founding a home for a family of artists, and bringing new life and purpose to the stage by exploring issues around sexuality & gender through theatre. She also wanted to provide a place for her actor friends to be able to play and grow as artists & humans outside of their superficial Hollywood type-cast. Carly has a B.A. in Theatre from UCLA, where she studied acting, directing, and reading many delicious plays. She’s also a sex-educator, painter, witch, healer, and Tarot reader She believes that theatre still exists because our need for storytelling, ritual and community as tools to make sense of the world and expand our empathy and awareness.
